Here, every piece begins with a story — yours.

This little studio grew from my love of remembering… of noticing the beauty tucked inside everyday life and finding ways to preserve it. Here you’ll find art made for the moments that matter most: heirloom keepsakes, portraits, one-line drawings, painted places to remember your adventures, and other pieces that help tell your story.

Each piece is created with care, nostalgia, and a deep reverence for memory. Each piece is a gentle reminder that our stories matter, and that they’re worth keeping, celebrating, and passing down. Every piece I create feels personal, because it is. I love to think of the hands that will hold it, the generations that might one day discover it, and the love it represents.

Because, in the end, art should tell your story and last beyond it. My hope is that the pieces created here become part of your family’s story too, treasured today and rediscovered in the years to come.

I’ve loved creating for as long as I can remember — sketching, painting, and collecting bits of beauty from the everyday. When I’m not painting, I’m likely planning my next adventure (because if budget travel were an Olympic sport, I’d be competing for that gold medal!), chasing another harebrained idea for a homemade gift, serving at my church, slipping a good pun into conversation (because wordplay is an art form too, of course), or spoiling my handsome little nephew. What started as a way to capture my own meaningful moments has grown into something much bigger — helping others remember theirs.

Thank you for finding your way to my little studio… and thank you for inviting me to help tell your story. I’d love to help you create something timeless.

xoxo, Alexandra

Hello, I’m Alexandra — the artist behind The Heirloom Room.

  • I create hand-painted watercolor pieces, continuous line illustrations, travel and heritage prints (coming soon!), and personalized heirloom ornaments. Each piece is made from your photos, stories, or selected countries and designed to feel timeless, meaningful, and beautifully personal.

  • Simply select the product you’d like and email your photo or details to alexandra@theheirloomroomstudio after checkout. If you’d prefer to discuss a unique idea first (businesses, venues, heirloom restorations, memorial pieces), please email me and I’ll be in touch with options and pricing.

  • Most custom orders take 2–3 weeks, depending on complexity and the season. During the holidays and high-volume times, turnaround may extend slightly—if you have a deadline, please let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

  • In many cases, yes! Rush availability varies, and an additional fee may apply. Send a message through the inquiry form and I’ll confirm timing.

  • Minor adjustments on digital orders (like color balance or spacing) are included. Because each piece is hand-created, significant redraws may require an additional fee. My goal is always that you LOVE your heirloom.

  • Yes. Many customers honor loved ones through portraits, family trees, childhood homes, heritage countries, or meaningful symbols. It’s an honor to create them.

  • Yes! I offer custom illustrations for branding, interiors, gifts, events, and product collaborations. Business inquiries can be made through the Custom Inquiry form.

  • Because each piece is made to order, returns and cancellations are generally not available—but if something isn’t right, please reach out. I genuinely care about your experience.

  • For Continuous Line Art

To create the most elegant and recognizable illustration, please choose photos that:

    • show the full body or full form (not just shoulders or a close-up). Not required, merely a suggestion.

    • are not selfies (selfie angles distort proportions)

    • have clear outlines between the subject and the background

    • include simple clothing shapes (flowy dresses, coats, hats, etc. work beautifully)

    • capture a moment, gesture, or relationship (holding hands, walking, twirling, carrying a child, etc.)

If you’re unsure, feel free to send multiple—I’ll help choose the one that will translate most beautifully into a single unbroken line.

For Watercolor Portraits (including those going inside ornaments)

To ensure the sweetest and most detailed miniature portrait, photos work best when they:

    • are taken in natural light, facing toward a window or outdoors

    • show faces clearly with soft, relaxed expressions

    • are at eye level, not from above or below

    • are not blurry or grainy

    • have no heavy shadows, filters, or strong color casts

    • include simple backgrounds or clear separation from surroundings

Tips for the best ornament portraits:

✨ Close-up or head-and-shoulders works best at a small scale
✨ Babies and children should be looking toward the camera if possible
✨ If you only have older or imperfect photos (heritage, memorial, etc.), I can still work with them—just let me know

If you’re deciding between photos, you can upload more than one and I’ll advise what will create the loveliest heirloom.
